Virtual Chat Room

Feeling isolated during the coronavirus pandemic? Join Modern Communicator’s free weekly video chat room on Wednesday morning to connect with others.

Whether you drop in for a few minutes or stay for the entire 90 minutes, why not grab a cup of coffee and join us? Details located on the Facebook Group’s events tab. This event is on Zoom, but unlike other MC events, will not be recorded. It’s just a casual gathering.

Learning Lab

(Postponed due to coronavirus.) This is Modern Communicator’s free monthly peer-to-peer coaching group. Registration opens the first business day of each month at 8am on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Description

Modern Communicator’s Learning Lab is a free, in-person monthly peer-to-peer coaching event to help Arizona’s marketing, public relations and communications professionals grow their digital skills.

A laptop is recommended. Limited seating, one ticket per person, no guests or walk-ins allowed. Must be a member of the Modern Communicator’s Facebook Group to participate.

Participants are expected to share a skill or lesson learned (show and tell is welcome!), bring up a topic for discussion that they feel the group would find valuable, share a specific challenge they need help with for instant coaching (if expertise is available), or lend expertise in helping others.

(For example, you’re tasked with using Creator Studio to manage a brand Instagram account and can’t figure it out, you want input on a content editorial calendar or website you’re creating, you need tips on improving how to find/land guest blog post opportunities, or you’ve mastered Google Analytics and want to show the group the five most useful features.)

Quarterly Event

This will be Modern Communicator’s quarterly learning and networking event with three topic-specific sessions moderated by experts in that topic.

This is the 2002 calendar of topics, in no particular order:
  1. INFLUENCERS & BLOGGERS. Breakouts include how to identify and pitch guest blog post opportunities, influencer campaigns and disclosures, and real vs. fake influencers.
  2. INSTAGRAM & FACEBOOK: Breakouts include Creative Studio, ads, and engagement.
  3. METRICS: Breakouts include metrics reporting, social media metrics, and Google metrics.
  4. WORDPRESS: Breakouts include SEO for WordPress/content, plug-ins and troubleshooting.
